Hello,
I am looking for anyone that has information on the background genetics of the NIH Black Rat. I have checked with RRRC at Missouri but they did not have any background strain information. Several old papers (circa 1965) have referenced this rat along with the Long Evans. I am specifically looking for the parental strains and if anyone is currently breeding this rat. I also saw a string in the archive about a black rat (R. rattus) are these one and the same?

Thanks so much,
Devorah
